WiFi QR — one-tap network connection
Print the WiFi QR; guests scan, connect, no typing.
WiFi QR
A WiFi QR encodes your network credentials in a format every modern phone understands. Guests scan, the phone shows a "Connect to [SSID]?" prompt, they tap Yes. No typing, no asking for the password.
Configuration
- Network name (SSID) — case-sensitive
- Password
- Security type — WPA / WPA2 / WPA3 (most common), WEP (legacy), or open network
- Hidden network? — toggle if your network doesn't broadcast its SSID
Static or dynamic?
Static is the right call for almost everyone — your WiFi password rarely changes, and you don't need scan analytics.
Dynamic is useful when:
- You want to rotate the WiFi password without reprinting (e.g. hotel that rotates the password monthly for security)
- You want scan analytics to see how many guests actually use the WiFi
- You want a time-window (active during business hours only)
Phone support
iOS 11+ and Android 10+ handle WiFi QRs natively from the camera. Older Android may need a third-party scanner app.
Print location tips
- Coffee shops: small QR card on each table is more discoverable than one on the wall
- Hotels: one on the desk + one on the back of the welcome card
- Offices: visitor reception + meeting rooms
